Theological Pluralism has been in the Church since 600AD when the Pope abandoned Augustine and allowed Cassian view to coexist. There were other disagreements such as the meaning of the Eucharist. Where the Church has gotten itself into trouble is when they had to choose a path such as during the time of the Reformation. Trouble is, they always seem to choose the wrong path....
