This study seeks to present from God's Holy Word what the Bible teaches about Mary of Nazareth, the young Jewish virgin that bore the Messiah, the Savior of the World. In this study we will seek to look at EVERY Bible verse found in the Holy Scriptures that pertains to Mary of Nazareth. Be sure to check out all the links for this study, for they will provide a deeper perspective into the person of Mary.
Introduction
In beginning this study, the clarifying statement should be made that the Bible, Gods infallible (reliable) and immaculate (perfect) Word, is the FINAL AUTHORITY when it comes to ALL matters pertaining to the truth of Christianity, which includes Mary (2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 3:16).
The Lord Jesus Christ gave countless warnings to BEWARE false teachers and false teachings. And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man DECEIVE YOU (Gospel of Saint Matthew 24:4).
Saint Paul also warned us to BEWARE of false teachings and fables. Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables (2 Timothy 4:2-4).

Well, Jesus himself was a “mortal born of woman.” Besides, Jesus was talking about the greatness of John. I don’t see “even greater than my mother anyway, btw.” ;-)
lol.... Along with all of Almighty God’s precious promises from His Word... My friend... I am not offended at all..lol...do what eve you want.. all I posted was Scripture..
thanks. To God be the Glory!
oh good.. are theses Bible verse links?.....
So don’t post inanities.
This says nothing about what Joseph and Mary did AFTER.
Read the scripture attentively and you will come to the truth as the Church teaches it.
What is clearly in the bible, is one of Jesus last conversations with His Father. In the garden, Jesus prayed His last prayer to His father. He asked Him THREE TIMES, that his followers remain united as ONE.
James 17:22 And I have given them the glory you gave me, so that they may be one, as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may be brought to perfection as one, that the world may know that you sent me, and that you loved them even as you loved me.
Most original protestant groups (Lutherans etc.) believe in the Blessed Mary as being without sin.
Why do all these fly by night churches insist on demeaning the role of the "BLESSED" mother, the "favored ONE", as nothing special?
She plays a huge role in God's plan for salvation.
With all the real offenses done to God, why pick on Jesus' mother? The reality is that even if she was proved not to be a virgin, I would still call her Blessed like the bible says, and I have no doubt that God gave us these example of true Christian women, because clearly our world has deceived us as to what a real woman should be.
Mary was obedient, humble, loving, and faithfull. That is what God wants for His children. No ordinary woman could watch her son being tortured, insulted, and killed, and still humbly accept God's plan.
If I prefer the icon of the Blessed Mother, to Britney Spears, Madonna the Singer, or Lady Gaga, your just going to have to find it in your heart to be a little more understanding.
If the liberties of interpretation and theological reasoning were applied as to the perfection of Mary and her being the mother of God, then Mary’s mother can be equally identified as more important as the mother of the mother of God who gave birth to the perfect vessel. ..... and equally applied to her mother ad infinitum....ergo reductio ad absurdum.
That does not suggest that we should join you in the least in your goddess worship. Jesus no doubt meant we should be united in the TRUTH.
Most original protestant groups (Lutherans etc.) believe in the Blessed Mary as being without sin.
Then they were just as bloody wrong as you (all) are.
She plays a huge role in God's plan for salvation.
Prove it.
With all the real offenses done to God, why pick on Jesus' mother?
No one is "picking on Jesus' mother." It is the thinly veiled worship of the "goddess of heaven" that is in question. Nearly every attribute given to Mary can be found therein, and not within the Scriptures in any way whatsoever.
Neato. It seems that you have your very own god created in your own image that you keep on the hall stand and rub his head for luck when you walk by. Love the humility.
Matthew 5: 1 1 When he saw the crowds, 2 he went up the mountain, and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him. 2 He began to teach them, saying: 3 3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, 4 for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Can you tell me what the arrogant will inherit?
He KNEW her, NO union TILL
They were married and are considering one flesh in the eyes of God. Are you saying Mary went against what the creation of marriage is about and ignored her husband just to suite your tradition?
I did read what the Word of God teaches. You ignore TRUTH for tradition.
God WORD is TRUTH. And your tradition can never change God’s Word - it stands forever.
You obviously don't read scripture much if you are calling him arrogant. All he is doing is repeating what God's word says. You don't think that God has every hair on our head counted? You don't think he hears our prayers? You don't think he never leaves or forsaken's us?
I’m not interested in reading who is for or against The Word of God.
All I’m interested in is the Living Word - The Word that created it all - His Word always was - for HE is The Word. What a God I serve - I praise HIM and ONLY HIM for HE ALONE is worthy of praise!
Agreed--but we must compare our beliefs and traditions with what is commanded in the Bible as well to be sure of no conflict.
Praying to Mary, whether it is worship (as some claim) or asking for intercession, is wrong.
The Bible is one story. There are not two different types of Christianity. Given that, what was commanded in the OT, and not rescinded in the NT (or later in the OT), is still valid. Agreed?
Deu 18:10 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in [fn] the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft,Don't consult the dead. Don't pray to Mary or any other dead saint. Talk only with the living and the Living God. He is more than capable of hearing everyone's prayers and doesn't require any angel/dead saint/etc to intercede for a living person's prayers.
Deu 18:11 or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead.
” . . . but she is first among them as mother of the savior the first Christian. . . .”
Obviously.
Geez...laptop theologians.
...got any more quicky labels to share, Mr. "Orthodox Christian. Family man. Deputy Sheriff U.S. Marine Sergeant American stock from before the Revolution."?
Isaiah does NOT say the woman would go her entire life without sex...
I believe in 2samuel 6:23 It reads in some translation Michal had no children until her death. Does that mean she had children after death?
You better throw that translation away...Right in the trash...Here's what it really says and if someone can't understand what it says, one might better start out again with the Daily Reader...
2Sa 6:23 Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.
Very arrogant. The Beatitudes, for instance tell us our responsibilities and how we should conduct ourselves in the service of God and our fellow men. The Two Commandments of Jesus are to love God and our fellow men.
The arrogance posted was that of a man who has his own god that serves him, rather than the opposite. We Catholics understand that God does not belong to us; rather, we belong to Him.
Mother Teresa was a very good example of humility. She never went around braying about God planning for her, prospering her, and answering every prayer that she makes.
You've read this off a Catholic apologetics site...I've read the same thing...
You need to think this thru...Who in the Old Testament or the New Testament had planned on only one child in the family (let's leave Mary out for a moment)??? I would think that anyone in the OT or NT after having one child anticipated having more...So when the first born is born, he/she can be called the firstborn since others likely will follow...
Now fast track ahead to anyone you now know or ever heard of...How many women do you know that had one child and stopped the process with sterilzation with no plans for any more??? And how many of them go around claiming their guaranteed one and only child is their 'first born'??? I'd bet not a single one...And there goes your biblical exegesis theory...
