Waking up in a cold sweat... what to do?
Me | 3/16/2010 | Lets456

Ok, so I have been waking up in a cold sweat the last several months VERY concerned about this country. In the past when I have had problems and concerns I find it encouraging to share and pray with others. This is what I propose... a 14 day prayer. We all agree to pray for this country every morning for 14 straight days starting tomorrow AM. Do this before getting out of bed or speaking to anyone. Who's in?

God is bigger than any GOVERNMENT!

Not to get off-topic what with the sniping, I DO wake up terrified lately.

Worse, I find myself wishing for things I can’t type here.

John Bolton today characterized the situation as something that scares HIM, and he’s the toughest guy I’ve ever seen.

I find myself asking for Israel to help us.. soon.

I’ve gotten on the wrong side of the Religion Moderator...once. Thanks for the reprieve.

I will never understand what passes for thought in the minds of some people.

If people like verity can make those kinds of comments and tell you to go to the Bad Place, then something’s wrong.

Plesae - do your duty!

Think RM’s leaving it as an example.

Sticks and stones thing.

But back to the thread topic, is anybody else having recent severe sleep/anxiety problems?

It’s one thing to leave his comment, but the dude hasn’t left the building permanently!

I don’t have any trouble sleeping, rarely do unless there’s a lot of pain.

But I do have bad dreams sometimes, in relation to the terrible state of the world and our country. And worrisome thoughts - and I pray a lot.

It appears that verity owns you for some reason.

What does he have on you?

LOL! Nothing.

Moderators have the thickest of skin. That and a sense of humor are probably qualifications for the job.

I left his post up because it was funny, like a gnat swatting at an elephant.

No, not having trouble sleeping because of world events, however, I am becoming more and more convinced that we are living in the end times and have been spending more and more time in prayer and Bible reading in preparation for what may be coming.

Between that and some health concerns, I’ve really come to the point of staring my own mortality in the face and decided that it’s past time to get my spiritual life to where it should have been a long time ago.
I noticed that the fourteen days is up on April 1, an easy date to remember. Hopefully by then, this will have become enough of a habit that we can keep at it.

Perhaps someone could think of a keyword so that we can keyword search this thread and keep tabs on how it’s going. Maybe something really original, like *fourteendays*.

FWIW, mike, I don’t think that other FReeper was joking too much with the comment about taking an aspirin.

There’s too much activity and too many interruptions in my home most mornings. My best time for prayers is at night. I pray for America every night. I’ll try to say a prayer every morning as well, but I can’t make any promises because that time is not my own.

I like the keyword 14daysofprayer.

That works.

I might just add the number 14 for myself.

That way, I ought to remember one of them.

I came across this recently. I find it helpful.

http://worldchallenge.edgeboss.net/download/worldchallenge/books/gods_plan_to_protect_his_people.

Apparently, David Wilkerson had a vision in the 1970’s of some of what is coming now. This online book was his answer, after long searching prayer, for how to guide believers in this coming time of financial and civil chaos.

May it help encourage you in your faith.

I will join you.
