The only things welcomed in the leftist tent are creatures who lust for two things: Other people's money, and other people's freedom. That the Catholics readily entered that tent and have found a comfortable seat for over a century should give anyone pause.

And for the record, one man's "hotbed" is another man's "ice tray."

“That the Catholics readily entered that tent and have found a comfortable seat for over a century should give anyone pause.”

And they voted for Bush and Reagan, too. So what.

Check the Beatitudes and get back to us.

I know quite a few protestants who back the democratic party, but that is neither here nor there since American Catholics are not the significant part in numbers in the 1+ billion Catholics throughout the world, and you are tarring all Catholicism.

This needs to be somebody's signature line!

That the Catholics readily entered that tent and have found a comfortable seat for over a century should give anyone pause.

Certainly. And the pause should be used for reflection and a second, third, and even a fourth look.

A problem with the "Catholic Experience" in the US is that the Church is so diverse that data can be used to attack it for contradictory offenses.

I can leave this thread with the suggestion that we are all not-so-crypto-commies and go to where I will be held personally responsible for Fr. Coughlin and his fulminant anti-socialism.

So yes. Pause. Look around. Get your bearings. Re-evaluate. Then soldier on.
