"Jenkins, is it? Time to visit the ILL desk, I guess"

The point is not that anyones clergy is better or worse than anyone elses. Beginning in the 1930's the left, lead by the Nazi's, has had an organized campaign to undermine the moral authority of the Catholic Church by a series of public accusations and so-called Immorality Trials" in an effort to link pedophilia and sexual misconduct with Catholic Clergy in the public mind. Too many, with a traditional hatred or distrust of the Catholic Church are too quick to grab onto this and perform the role of the "useful idiot" for the left. I am just making sure that the truth be known.

Ah, I had thought you were peddling another "fact" (like the innumerable number of Protestant denominations "fact" and the East German Stasi had its origin in Calvin's Geneva "fact" that show up on Religion threads).

"Truth be known"? What truth? Be specific.

I agree that anti-RC bigotry exists, in the U.S. and elsewhere, and that it has a long history. However, I fail to see the need to frame these matters in terms of conspiracies, whether it be a Nazi, or a Leftist, or a Freemason, or an "it's da Jooooz" plot. I've found that conspiracy theories are almost always nonsensical and false. Not to mention the fact that those tin-foil hats make my scalp itch.

Also, it should be pretty obvious that there's no need to organize a propaganda campaign from the outside to destroy the moral authority of the RC Church -- such as it is -- given the fact that so many RC Churchmen seem to be literally Hellbent upon destroying it from the inside, either through their own atrocious behavior or their unwillingness to discipline their brothers DESPITE the existence (for several decades) of clear rules and protocols for dealing with matters such as child abuse.

Traditions, negative and positive, don't NEED conspiracies or cabals to exist or to survive. They have a life of their own.

By blaming a Leftist, or Lutheran, or Nazi, or somesuch plot for the misfortunes of the RCC you are just scapegoating and conspiracy mongering. I'd argue that such scapegoating is dangerous for RCs and others because it reproduces the same bad habits of thought which have been used to target RCs for bigoted (and even violent) attacks over the centuries. Such scapegoating poisons the public square, and makes it more likely that what comes around will get around.
