Are you and bogusname in a competition?
John C. Rao is an associate professor of history at St. John’s University, director of the Roman Forum/Dietrich von Hildebrand Institute, and former president of Una Voce America.[1] He was criticised for giving a speech in Prague by Cardinal Miloslav Vlk for his anti-American views.[2][3][4]
A frequent contributor to The Remnant (newspaper), a traditional Catholic biweekly, Dr. Rao is known for writing his columns from Rocco’s Cafe, an Italian pastry shop in Greenwich Village Manhattan, for several months of the year.
Complete rubbish.

At last count, we have over 30,000 different types of “Protestantism” and they all claim to authoritatively interpret Scripture. 30,000 Truths is a contradiction in terms.
Your ugly post is not worth the bits it consumes.
BWAHAHAHAHHAHAHHA
Please the above is so much clap trap. Slamming those who do not believe as you do with such terms as “...America is unadorned...”Who cares if we ‘dress up’. Fact is liberty and freedom were and are God’s gift to mankind. Suggesting otherwise contradicts all that He has taught us.
This post is total anti Protestant bigotry and bashing. It’s not worth a bucket of warm “spit” as former VP John Nance Garner would say.
Protestants thought that the concept of the Creation as a mirror of God robbed the Divinity of His uniqueness and majesty. So did the idea that men were the wounded lords of Creation who, with Gods help, might someday be washed as white as snow.
I am going to address this more later.
Now there's a trick
SAME THING.
Hugz-n-kissies,
Rodamala
p.s. If there is ONE THING that I can not stand, it's intolerance! BWAHAHAHAHA!
So you're wearing the mantle of progressivism? Be my guest.
Dear Saint...
I thought you were better than this.
I believe in the one true God as manifested as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I worship the one true God. I count on Jesus as my salvation, and not myself. I believe in the Bible as the inspired true word of God.
Why do you have to tear down my beliefs? Why do you have to be contentious when God says to get along with each other? Why do you have to spew hatred and calculated lies about those who believe in God?
I guess you were right all along. You are not a saint, after all.
Thanks for the ping. Interesting article. However, I don’t think I need to go looking for fights. They come to me soon enough.
I want no part of this kind of BS.

“It is only because of his insistence that men can never be purified, either in this world or the next, that the concept of justification by faith alone becomes necessary. If men cannot please God, through good works, the sacraments, and sanctifying grace, then their only hope lies in complete abandonment to His will.”

Corrupt the thesis and the conclusion will be corrupt as well.
By no means did any Reformer hold that man cannot be purified, though that is not the term used in the Bible or by Jesus. Nor is ‘pleasing God,’ the point.
We are dead in trespasses and sins, as the Bible says, in our natural state. Only God can give us new life and redemption. We are unable to desire it or claim it without His call, which is, effective.
Second, ‘we shall be like Him,’ sounds like we shall be, well, like Christ. This is not pure?
“Present-day Protestants are as much unwilling victims of Luthers ideas as we Catholics are. They cannot be attacked for supporting what they do not even understand.”

Difficult though it may be, the author proceeds with hubris and misunderstanding to attack his own straw man. He attacks his own Protestantism, not the real thing.
Our Lord warned of such of these. I will pray for his soul but with his obvious religious judgementalism and pride, I fear prayers are wasted.
I'm also sorry for the poster, who is using the words of another to post hate, in the name of God to those of us here at FR.
I'm very aware that many at FR are of the Catholic faith but never, have I, a Protestant, felt unwelcome or "unworthy" of being included here.
Lastly, only those who will be found in Heaven will be "believers," be they Catholic, Baptist, Episcopalian or those who espouse no "religion" at all.
It will also be a shock to many who are certain that they are "deserving," to wonder why they missed out.
