The misinterpretation, or in some cases, non-interpretation of this prophecy that causes so much of what you say:

I think there is good indication that sacrifices were never meant to be.

God's instructions to Moses and Aaron were pretty clear. If that's not what He wanted, He had an odd way of putting it.
