February 9, 2010 Rowan Williams Issues 'Profound Apology' To Gay Christians

Ruth Gledhill, Religion Correspondent

The Archbishop of Canterbury issued a “profound apology” to the lesbian and gay Christian community today.

In a powerful address to the General Synod, Dr Rowan Williams warned that any schism within the Church would represent a betrayal of God’s mission. But he made clear that he regretted recent rhetoric in which he has sought to mollify the fears of the traditionalist wing of the church.

The Archbishop is from the Church’s liberal wing and a man who once espoused equal rights for gays within the Church. More recently he has adopted a conservative line for the sake of Church unity.

Rowan the Lost. Forgetaboutit. Homosexuals don't want your church anyway. They just want the property.

I figure gays and lesbians are God’s children too. Lord knows I don’t understand their ways. But I’ve got a dear friend who happens to be gay, an older lady as a matter of fact, and she’s an incredible person with a beautiful soul.

Even lesbian and gays can be Christians. I’m a sinner, and I’m a Christian, so what makes me so special? Nothing. Now I’ve never been one to tell someone who can and cannot be a Christian, but some folks do.

As far as I can tell, Rowan is 100% stupid all of the time.

When these homosexuals are burning in a lake of fire I'm sure this apology will really make them feel much better.

“Even lesbian and gays can be Christians.”

Your right but, true repentance leads to a change of behavior.

Wrong it's an oxymoron, there's really no such thing as a homo Christian. That's convoluted thinking that helps no one, especially the lost souls trapped in homosexuality.

Mr. Williams has left the work of the Gospel and has become more politician than prelate.

Gay "Christians"? Huh? Kind of a loose interpretation of what a Christian is...more like a social gospel "christian". Rom 1:18-32 points out that homosexuals & lesbians are immoral reprobates with unnatural affections.... doesn't sound too Christian to me. And I Corinthians 6:9 declares that the "unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God" in a list including homosexuals -- unless they repent and ask God to forgive them and to accept Jesus as their Savior.

"The Archbishop is from the Church’s liberal wing and a man who once espoused equal rights for gays within the Church"

And Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him. Jesus stood up and said to her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more." - John 8:11

Seems the Church of England would rather drop that last hanging chad of insight from Christ.

I’ll ping the list tomorrow.

There is no such thing as a homosexual who is surrendered to God. When a person gives their heart and their will to God (which is the real meaning of a Christian), they give up their selfish will or any interest separate from God’s will, which means they give up sinful acts such as homosexual behavior. And by this surrender, God will cleanse them of sinful desire, and they will cease to identify as a homosexual.

Can someone be a “thief Christian”? Or a “liar Christian”? Or a “child molesting Christian”? Of course not. All the human failings, flaws and sinful nature is purified by God’s mercy - maybe not all at once, but if a person clings to such filth, they are trying to use God as a doormat and are just a hypocrite.

Dr Rowan Williams is a false teacher, an apostate unbeliever who has no understanding of the Bible or scriptural truths, especially concerning homosexuality & lesbianism. Romans 1:18-32 characterizes this perverse behavior as being "without natural affection" and God gives them over to a reprobate mind.

Rowan Williams is a classic example of an apostate "Christian" leader in II Tim 3:5 "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof, from such turn away. v 7 "Ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. v 8 "Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith"

Sounds like a precise character profile of Rowan Williams.

“Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”

(I Corinthians 6:9-11)

The difference is repentance. When you lie, steal, cheat, or whatever, do you throw a parade and celebrate? Or do you repent?

Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

no, they do want the church and all of the acceptance of as many people as they can get...to assuage the inner guilt that God brings to their conscience..there is NO getting away from that!
