“Let us consider a garden with out the fall..How would you understand Holiness with out something to compare it to. ..namely evil
How would you understand the wrath of God and the Justice of God in that garden ..if there was no sin “
When we see God more clearly, we will have no problem understanding Holiness. We will understand that it is an active positive, not a lack of the negative. The Fall was not a leap upward, regardless of Mormon teaching - not that you are Mormon, but I remember living in Utah and being told the Fall was a Fall Upwards.
We fell, and we fell down. We weren’t pushed, but fell on our own and fell DOWN.
His Holiness is comprised of His Righteousness facing His Justice, similar to the 2 cherubim on top the Mercy Seat on the Arc of the Covenant.
Very easy to grasp without good or evil.
From a fallen perspective, we view His Perfect Justice as demanding our Righteousness, so we anticipate a fiery indignation. Likewise, our injustice perceives His Perfect Righteousness will demand Perfect Justice. That’s one reason why when we sin, we frequently appeal to His Grace, because we don’t want to be disciplined. Once we reface Him and confess our sins, He forgives us and remembers them no more, although our scarred souls have a tendency to feel guilty if we don;t return to Him through faith in Christ.
