It seemed to me then that they indeed saw the church and their Priests as their salvation thru other conversations which followed. Mass and Lent was the extent of their conversations..so I inquired of these...they couldn't explain except that is what they do.

Good points...And you'll notice that all the debate on their side comes from former Protestants who apparenty have at one time spent time in the scriptures, before they switched to the Catholic Catechism and their so-called church fathers...

I just can't imagine anyone who has already experienced salvation as a Protestant becoming a Catholic...Just me, I guess...

Oh I can imagine people who are young in the Christian faith becoming catholic...absolutley. Or for that matter be attracted to any other faith.. Because if their church and it’s people ONLY lead them to that place of salvation, and does not instruct them further as to the truths represented in scripture for them to grow..and ground them in the faith, then they can easily fall prey to the wolves waiting to snatch them away, in any cult or practice that is out there....and they do snatch them up! and people will believe the lie. And what’s interesting it’s the young adults who saying they don’t want their churches to be or look like the last school dance or Fri.Night out on the town.

Today there is far too much emotionalism and feel good ‘tactics’,apart from solid teaching, thus we have people skip roping thru churches..one as good as the other. Lights, camera, action, and the show goes on...and the churches now are beginning to see this is not the way to go.

I speak of this wave of showmanship that has washed over many of the churches today. Because for the most part they have not found a balance, and I have seen many. It’s either high priestly music and fan fair, or so quiet and dead even the pastor falls asleep! But the sound of solid teaching is silent for the most part. This applies to most faiths.
