I’ll just add: There were many, many solid reasons to not vote for Mitt. Abortion, guns, taxes, liberalism, you name it. But the STUPID reason not to vote for him was his Mormonism.

But the STUPID reason not to vote for him was his Mormonism.

I prefer NOT to vote for a man who has made a "sacred" vow to put his church above everything in life, including his COUNTRY.

THE LAW OF CONSECRATION

[Peter, James, and John return to the Terrestrial Room.]

PETER: A couple will now come to the altar.

We are instructed to give unto you the law of consecration as contained in the book of Doctrine and Covenants, in connection with the law of the gospel and the law of sacrifice, which you have already received. It is that you do consecrate yourselves, your time, talents, and everything with which the Lord has blessed you, or with which he may bless you, to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, for the building up of the kingdom of God on the earth and for the establishment of Zion.

All arise.

Each of you bring your right arm to the square.

You and each of you covenant and promise before God, angels, and these witnesses at this altar, that you do accept the law of consecration as contained in this, the book of Doctrine and Covenants [he displays the book], in that you do consecrate yourselves, your time, talents, and everything with which the Lord has blessed you, or with which he may bless you, to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, for the building up of the kingdom of God on the earth and for the establishment of Zion.

Each of you bow your head and say, "Yes."

That will do.

Read more about the "law of consecration" here:

Nov 21st, 2008 "When we make the covenant of consecration, we agree to consecrate our lives, including everything that we have, will have, are or will be.”

With the racist history of the mormon church, there is no way that Romney can defeat the liberal candidate.

I have already had experience in living under the dictates of the mormon religion. I don't care to repeat the experience.

Lest the "Obama" comparison enter the conversation, I maintain that this country was not founded to be ruled by either dictatorship.

Agree 100% its his policy's not his religion that makes him unacceptable.......we went through the religion test for president during Kennedys run for president...at that time is was Catholicism under fire...No religious test, yes to what the policy's espoused.. Much harsher things were said about Catholic religion that about Mormon...I think it was Truman that said I am not worried about the Pope in the White House, but about the pop in the white house...Kennedy senior was a nazi sympathizer.

But much anti-catholism was being talked about like anti Mormon is being talked about, only worse....

If you were not voting age in the 60's you probably cannot relate..
