All of us, NYer especially have a very very good understanding of Scripture.
What we don’t have is the hubris and pride that goes along with personal interpretations, and I don’t call people nasty names.
There have been heresies since the early days.
“my only allegiance is to the Lord.:”
So is mine. And has been for a very long time.
“Yours should be to, not to some guys in funny garb who covet earthly power and make up new rules”
May God rebuke you for such lies. Your allegiance is to your interpretation of the god that lies between your ears.
Op, I didn’t call anybody a nasty name, and you know that.
I don’t know why you are so hung up on “interpretations.” Apparently someone has frightened you or warned you away from reading the ancient words of God. That is sad indeed.
The Father who created us all and who inspired His disciples to pen His words loves us. He does not make scripture too hard to understand.
Sure, self-absorbed men have always found ways to argue. But have you ever read the Bible cover to cover? If not, why not?
Have a little faith. Let our Lord speak to you through his Holy Word. Shed your fear. It’s not hard. He makes it easy. And you will be richly rewarded.
