So this core Europe might have ten “horns.” That’s plausible. But are there any features which this core Europe might have in common with the Beast, besides the ten horns which it does not (yet) have?
Why would such a creation be likened to Imperial Rome? UEW is founded in Brussels, clearly not a city built on seven hills. Apart from Italy, the nations included would extend beyond the Northern reaches of Imperial Rome, while most of the Central, Eastern and Southern territories upon which Rome was built.
On the other hand, why would a “core Europe” be coterminous with the WEU as it stood only between 1995 (when Greece entered) and 1999 (when Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic). True, the latter three (and the seven to join since then) are labelled “associate member” countries, but this is an historical accident, not one of any meaning to a successor “core Europe” since the new countries are all part of EU and NATO, which defined the WEU in the first place. Isn’t the successor “core Europe” what you’re really talking about, since the WEU is mostly disbanded? Why would “core Europe” include Greece and France, but not Poland? (Both Greece and France spent much of the Cold War outside NATO.)
Supposedly there’s some scripture in the Psalms that deals with this aspect. I think it’s Psalm 83. From what I’ve heard when these nations attack they will be destroyed and Israel will take over their territory. When that happens, then Russia and Iran get into the act and bring the Gog/Magog war to try and punish little ole Israel for defeating their friends.
The reason Arabia and Iraq are possibly not a part of the hords that attack is #1 - Because of the current US presence, or #2 - They are destroyed in the Psalm 83 attack.
Sadly, the fabrication here is the need to insert an unspecificed period of time (now amounting to almost 2000 years) between verses 23 and 24;
23 "Thus he said: 'The fourth beast shall be A fourth kingdom on earth, Which shall be different from all other kingdoms, And shall devour the whole earth, Trample it and break it in pieces. The Roman empire, the fourth kingdom, ended. The ten kings are dead. The kingdom of Christ has been established on its ruins and is taking over the entire world, just as indicated in the visions.
Insert arbitrary amount of time here! 24 The ten horns are ten kings Who shall arise from this kingdom. And another shall rise after them; He shall be different from the first ones, And shall subdue three kings.
44 And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. 45 Inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold--the great God has made known to the king what will come to pass after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure." (Daniel 2)
Istanbul is also known as the city on seven hills .
As is Jerusalem.
I knew that about Jerusalem, not about Istanbul. Interesting.
And Turkey is directly North of Jerusalem. Gog/Magog perhaps?
Turkey extends Eastward until it’s directly North of Jerusalem, but Constantinople/Istanbul is as far West than North. On the other hand, Anatolia is also in modern Turkey.
And the book of Revelation happened when?
And the binding of Satan in Rev. happpened when? He still seems to be around. And the new Jerusalem and the new earth happened when? Did I miss something?
Why, have you seen him lately?
Seriously, Jesus gave us the timing of the binding in Matthew 12:
2 Then one was brought to Him who was demon-possessed, blind and mute; and He healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw. 23 And all the multitudes were amazed and said, "Could this be the Son of David?" 24 Now when the Pharisees heard it they said, "This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons." 25 But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. 26 If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? 27 And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. 28 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you. 29 Or how can one enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house. The coming of the kingdom in the days of Christ was the indication of the binding of Satan. He was no longer free to deceive the nations, and so the gospel could go out into all the world. This was the promise of Jesus when He told His disciples,
"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."The reason the disciples could go out to the ends of the earth was because that deceiver was on a short leash, bound as it were so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished.
Some folks are deluded into believing that Satan, rather than Jesus Christ, is the king in control of this world. But the Bible tells us otherwise. Only those who rely on their imagination, rather than the Word of God, sees it differently.
And the new Jerusalem and the new earth happened when?
Well, the new heavens and earth comes after Christs return, when, we are told, the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. (2 Peter 3:10).
As far as the new Jerusalem is concerned, that exists today and all Christs people are citizens.
22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, 23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.In Rev. 21, we see the heavenly Jerusalem coming down to the new heavens and new earth after the judgment day.
Did I miss something?
I dunno. Is Matthew 12 still in the Bible?
