Under Canon Law, it is nonsensical for the bishops to be involved in this at all—either bishop, Naumann or Wuerl. It is nonsensical to hold that there can be one “policy” on this matter in Kansas City and another “policy” in Washington.
Sebelius should be denied Communion ANYWHERE she attempts to receive it.

I don’t disagree.
I just try hard not to attribute malice to things which can be explained by incompetence, particularly with the Church.
On the other hand, I am sorry to say that the truth probably is that Sebelius talked to someone like Kerry who knows a parish with a liberal priest who tends to ignore things like this. She probably didn’t want to admit she’s doing this because she knew it would shine the spotlight on her.
