Dear brother in Christ, if you want to talk about "the actual neuron level ‘record’ of the memory," then you'll need to find a more "knowledgeable" correspondent on that topic than me. That particular line of inquiry is not my cup of tea at all.

Thus for the same reason the very term "molecular machine" sets me on edge: It is the wrong metaphor from the very beginning.
