Ladies and Gentlemen, the Nestorian heresy:

But she is NOT the mother of God. She is the mother of Jesus, the man.

>>Ladies and Gentlemen, the Nestorian heresy:<<

It always seems to pop up on one of these threads, doesn’t it?

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Nestorian heresy:

Once again, point me to the chapter and verse in scripture that puts such a title on Mary. While we all wait, here is another tidbit for you to chew on:

John 1:1-4 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Nestorian heresy:

Although the Nestorian heresy, stating that Jesus did not have both a divine and human will, there is some other, more fundamental heresey afoot here.

It's a denial of the incarnation, a denial of the unity of the divine and the human in the one person of Jesus Christ. I would classify this heresy as Gnosticism.

Christians have accepted Mary as Mother of God (Theotokas) as a matter of doctrine since the Council of Ephesus in 431 AD, so this is not some new, innovative doctrine.

As an Orthodox Christian, I believe in the Assumption of Mary, we call the feast the Dormition, but we do not accept the Immaculate Conception or even the concept of Original Sin.

Whatever is not assumed is not saved! And therefore, the Theotokas was fully human, conceived like other humans.
