How about the infallibility of the Pope?
How about purchasing Indulgences during the middle ages?
Congratulations! You agree with the Catholic Church!
>>Ladies and Gentlemen, the Nestorian heresy:<<
It always seems to pop up on one of these threads, doesn’t it?
To turn the logic around, if God could create a new species of human being—sinless (that would be Mary)—before the miraculous birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, then why in the world would he need to go to the trouble to come to earth incarnate in the first place?
I mean, God would only need to cause a sinless Joseph to be conceived too, then the world could have been repopulated with sinless people—without all that messy business of the cross...
(naturally we’re debating on air—as not a word of God’s Word is about this.)

I LOVE it when the Middle Ages come up.
Hold that thought, my popcorn is done.
2 Tim 3:16 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”
Papal Infallibility as you understand it? Or as the Church understands it?
Sale of Indulgences as you understand it happened? Or what really happened?
Honestly, The Father could do that if He wanted to.
He didn’t want to. He did it through His Son.
Who are we to judge?
Scripture says nothing of the kind.
But that language is not exclusive.
You have the Scriptura, but not the sola.
It is His Church, founded by Him and protected from error by the Holy Spirit to this day and for all time.
God did not start the Catholic church he founded the catholic church whic means universal however, nice try.
the Holy Spirit is really protecting the Catholic Church from errors, I mean with all the priestly scandals and all I kinda think another entity is protecting it.
Ah yes, the old veneration of Mary to all the attributes of Goodhood. A more freindly version of Jesus, rendering Jesus just some alsoran in the story of redemtpion where one need not even communicate with Him, just go right to mary. After all, just like Jesus, she can intercede tot he father and just like Jesus, she can forgive sin, and even better than Jesus, she didn’t have sin and judgement heaped upon her with all that messy beating, scourging and nasty crucifixion thingy. She had SO much more favor fromt he father that she just was, well, assumed! Right into thin air! SO cool. So much better than Jesus.
Compare Maryology to the worship of all the fertility goddesses of the idol worshiping religions and note the similarities. Oh, that’s right, you gotta kiss the feet of the statue (idol) of mary too! Meh...just a coincidence.
but, but, but, whatever you do, don’t call it mary-worship!
That wouldn’t be right.
Might offend someone.
And the last thing one would want to do is offend.
Hate speach and all...
You were not paying attention, were you?
Scripture does not command sola Scriptura.
>>2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.<<
And?
Where is the part about “Scripture alone”?
Of course I was. That’s how I was able to congratulate you for agreeing with the Catholic Church.
Amen.
I undersand how the Roman Catholic Church understands AND professes it.
Sale of Indulgences as you understand it happened? Or what really happened?
So, you were there?
>>You have the Scriptura, but not the sola.<<
Do you think it’s the Latin that puts them off?
Maybe they don’t get “Sola”. I’ve heard rumors that when some Protestants speak Latin, their tongues ignite.
Mighty self righteous of you to interpret the mind of someone.
How it looks to you is not what is in a person’s heart.
