I didn't take a snapshot of those atrocities last time I was in Rome and Poland so I can't give you firsthand knowledge. But I believe those statues with Mary on the cross with Christ are in Rome and Poland, and not a figment of some gigantic Protestant hoax.

Protestants don't go to such devious lengths to combat the errors of Rome. They don't need to. Scripture is all anyone needs to accomplish that.
