“The failure of Christ to use the words you demand or I demand does not make a thing false.”
And God cares only for your obedience, not for your opinion. So it matters not a whit to my salvation that you think the Catholic church is the only true Church. Your belief does not make a thing true. The ONLY thing we have that is infallible is the Word of God, aka the Bible.
What I think? No. Doesn't matter. It's what Christ commands that should concern you.
The ONLY thing we have that is infallible is the Word of God, aka the Bible.
You are entitled to your own misinterpretation of Scripture. It is of no use to me.
But it would be interesting to see how, under the terms of sola Scriptura, you cite that. I mean, that's not a quote, is it?
Wow. Crude gestures.
How typical of you.
John 10:27: My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me
Matthew 4:4: But he answered and said, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
Words of Christ himself.
Revelation 22:18-19: For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book: If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the Book of Life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book
John as well... There are many such references in the OT as well, if you’d like them.
So how about the Biblical basis for the Papacy, for the inerrancy of the Pope speaking ex cathedra?
Read it as it's written, just as with the Constitution. It means what it says.
Will people misinterpret? Of course they will. They are human, after all. Both within and outside of the Catholic church.
Please show where it says the Catholic Church in the Bible? Where it is the Pope who acts as Christ?
But they do not say sola Scriptura.
“The Catholic Church is the pillar and ground of the truth, just as 1Ti 3:15 says it is. “
Thats not what 1Timothy 3:15 says.
Your own personal interpretation of Scripture is (still) of no use to me.
Martin Luther is in a boatload of trouble right now.
968 - Her role in relation to the Church and to all humanity goes still further. "In a wholly singular way she cooperated by her obedience, faith, hope, and burning charity in the Savior's work of restoring supernatural life to souls. For this reason she is a mother to us in the order of grace."509
It just doesn't get more much more blasphemous than this. Mary works with Christ to save men's souls??? Don't RCs ever step back and realize the profound, anti-Scriptural, idolatrous error of that statement?
“But it would be interesting to see how, under the terms of sola Scriptura, you cite that. I mean, that’s not a quote, is it? “
You seem fixated on the Sola Scriptura. Either the Bible is true as written or it is garbage. For if we individually are to start picking and choosing where we personally think its correct than nothing in it can be of God.
Spreading mistrust and unbelief of the Bible is the work of Satan.
There’s nothing “crude” about that face. I thought it was hilarious. Very Robert DeNiro-ish.
False dichotomy.
Spreading mistrust and unbelief of the Bible is the work of Satan.
So don't do it.
“I’m still waiting for the Bible verse that mandates sola Scriptura. “
So you’re looking for a reference in the Bible that says we can interpret the Bible as we wish? That parts of it don’t mean what they say. That its the fallible word of God?
You’re funny, may God Bless you and soften your heart.

See, you say "works" (present tense), but the passage you quote uses the past tense ("cooperated").
The twisting and contortion of what the Catholic Church teaches is continued apace.
"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man, Christ Jesus" -- 1 Timothy 2:5
