Cash register drawers won’t open. Banks would be closed. People would have to revert to barter. After some months, when the power finally gets restored, it would be too late. Your bank account would be in an archive file somewhere, but it will be worthless and laughed at, because society will be bartering again the way it always did. It will be simple again. “You give me some beans, and I’ll give you some sugar.”
