Heading out so this will be short: the biggest question I had when I BT’d (lots of false starts and restarts) was “if HaShem’s voice was so loud and booming at Sinai that it physically hurt the people’s ears, how did the later prophets, scribes, and priests know it was HaShem speaking to or through them?”
Later I realized the answer was simple: keep all the commandments and we will be like priests to HaShem. If it was possible for Moses to teshuvah, who lived like an Egyptian for many years and killed a man, then it’s possible for anyone.
I see the world significantly different now than a year ago and have so much more to learn (am properly caffeinated and ready for tonight!) thanks to you all.
Chag Sameach!
Chag Sameach everyone :)
Chat sameach! Ate quiche tonight and decorated with flowers.

I wish to add a few quotes from the Divine Code by Rabbi Moshe Weiner, published by Ask Noah International, 2011:
“Such a fundamental revelation need only occur once, if it is unquestionably witnessed and recorded, and commanded by God to be preserved for posterity.
That revelation took place at Mount Sinai, in the Hebrew year 2448 (1312 B.C.E.).
At that time, the voice of God, the name of God, and the Unity of God, were openly revealed.” (p 19)
“Even though the testimony from Mount Sinai was directed to the entire Jewish people who heard and saw it directly, and the Gentile nations did not experience it directly, nevertheless, such a unique testimony to a group of millions of people is impossible to refute...” (p 31)
“The authenticity of Moses is based on the public revelation at Sinai: God revealed Himself to the entire nation of Israel, at least three million people...the entire Jewish people personally experienced that revelation, each individual in effect becoming a prophet, and each one verifying the experience of the other.
That public revelation, therefore, authenticated the bona fide status of Moses as a prophet of God, and the Divine origin of the instructions he recorded in the Torah.
That, and that alone, is the criterion for the belief in, and acceptance of, Moses and his teachings...” (p 39)
Thanks! Many people have sincere questions. We need to give Torah-true answers. The rest depends on HaShem.
'Amen!
Annual Shavu`ot bump.
We’re missing the physical archeology for forty years wandering in the desert. I want to believe it, but when there’s nothing, I start thinking of alternatives.
Just finished Prager’s “The Rational Bible”. Superbly interesting, but it does not sufficiently take up this pressing question either.
Where is all their trash?
We find stuff all the time.
What happened to all the Blockbuster video stores? They must’ve never existed.
What and where?

Final, pre-holiday bump.
Annual bump.
Wow, talk about timing, ZC. I did not see your ping until now, after writing this post.
