Yes indeed there is great lengths to spell out this 7 year appointed time. But then Christ makes the announcement, because of the 'elect's' sake, no 'flesh' would be save, time would be shortened.
Now is it not true that when we depart these flesh bodies the dye is cast as to our 'standing' after flesh dies? Now Christ uses the word 'flesh' not soul, and he is specifically referencing the 'elect', those that Paul describes in Ephesians, 'chosen' (or elect) BEFORE the foundation of this earth age. IT is for their cause the 'temptation' or tribulation would be such they would be deceived by the miracle performing pretend Jesus that is going to get tossed down upon us.
Those 'set' aside ones delivered up for a testimony, that are not to premeditate what to say but allow the Holy Spirit to do the testifying, are the cause for literal time of the 7 years to have been shortened.
Christ said it would be as in the 'days' of Noe (Noah) so it is prerequisite that one fully understand alllll of what Genesis 6 instructs to comprehend the full description that Christ has instructed. Remember Christ said I have foretold you all things.
