Revelation 18 1And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
2And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
3For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
4And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
5For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
---------------------------------------------- NOTE: Some say America is Babylon. I tend to believe the reference is to a rebuilt Babylon in the end times or that it may have a double fulfillment. Still, I post this particular scripture as a reminder to pray for our nation in the sense that its wickedness does not go unnoticed by God, and that we, God's people, must always take care to try to live our lives as seperated from the sins of the world as possible. Such a verse is a challenge to myself, for I sin far too often. But, maybe it is for others out there too, to remember as you pray.
Today I come to You in prayer for this nation. Founded upon Your principles, it has left those principles and embraced evil. Idolatry. Greed. Murders. Selfishness. You name it, this nation is into it. Surely, Your judgment rests upon it. And rightly so.
We do not deserve Your mercy but we pray for it just the same. We don't pray for a lack of trouble in this land, for that may be what it takes to restore the land. But, if at all possible, we ask for Your grace instead of Your judgment at this time.
The United States is full of lost sheep, wandering after whatever the wicked shepherds tell them they should wander after. They don't think for themselves. They have grown too fat and lazy. They are oblivious to the evil around them, or the cliff their wicked shepherds are about to lead them over. Awaken them, Lord. At least show them clearly what they face, so that perhaps in seeng it they may repent.
I pray for Washington. What evil lurks there! This week, persecution began in earnest in that city and still the masses sleep. They are being sold into slavery by these wicked rulers, Satan's servants, and the people don't even know it. When they do, they deny it. What a sorry state we are in.
Yet, if they all were converted to Your truth, all of that would change. So, we pray for their conversion. If that is not within Your will, but if the have been given over to Satan to serve the purpose of bringing judgement on this land, then we pray still for Your exposure of them. Don't let this people be destroyed without at least realizing what their idols are doing.
Protect Your church, Lord. We are seeing more and more frightening things. They have come after the cash. They want to control the health care. They want to control our vehicles. They want to monitor our homes. And now, they want the children of America to be conscripted into their service. Forbidding them to participate in church (as one draft of HR 1388 stated), they will instead be reeducated by their politically correct philosophy, to hate America and to adopt their radical agenda. Lord, don't let them take the children. I am afraid it will get violent. Stop it, if possible, before it gets that far.
Go with us Lord. I pray for the churches. If any of Your people are in churches that do not teach the truth, I pray You will begin even this Sunday to call them out. Come out of Babylon. Do not stick with ear ticklers. Find churches that teach the truth so that you may be prepared for days to go.
We love You Lord, and we praise the name of Christ who bought us, in His name we pray, Amen.

The consensus is that the title should remain more simple such as that above. I will leave the name Obama in the title because that is what we are called to do per Scripture. The thread does not exist for our personal comfort, but as a means for two or more to gather together in agreement and pray for our nation and the salvation of its leaders. Unless their hearts are changed, our nation’s future is very dark.
Deliver us from evil.
Woe unto those who call evil good, and good evil.

Joining in prayer.
It sounds to me as if what you are asking us to do are mutually exclusive. We can either pray for our nation to prosper or we can pray for Obama to succeed. I will continue to do the latter while Obama walked the road to perdition.

I have never prayed for Obama’s success, and have been very clear about that. I pray he gets saved. I can pray no blessings upon him.
For some reason, I’m reminded of one of my favorite exchanges from “Fiddler On The Roof”:
“Rabbi! May I ask you a question?”
“Certainly, Lebisch!”
“Is there a proper blessing...for the Tsar?”
“A blessing for the Tsar? Of course! May God bless and keep the Tsar...far away from us!”
Lord, I lift our President up to You and ask that You give him eyes to see and ears to hear. Allow him a glimpse into the spiritual to see the forces of darkness that surrounds him. Help him to break agreement with those powers of darkness, and bring him the salvation he so desperately needs. Lord, let your calling upon him sound loudly so that there is no mistaking it. Return our government to the place of righteousness that You established here 222 years ago. In the most precious name of Jesus I pray, amen.

Father, in the parable of the sower, You teach us that the seed of Your Word that falls along the path represents the ones who hear, and the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe (Luke 8:12). Lord, please help me to actively receive Your Word into my heart upon hearing it so that the devil cannot come and take it from me before it has time to take root. I also pray that I will not be like those who receive the Word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away (Luke 3:13). Help me to receive Your Word and hang on to it tightly. In Jesus name, Amen.
