Let me chime in and say that President Taylor’s words were absolute truth.
They are all hollow....nothing but platitudes. And I feel sorry for them.
At least YOU admit it. I appreciate that.
And not to worry Stourme, we feel sorry for you for the same reasons.

This is a big problem the LDS have. They claim to be the only true church, but when confronted with problems, they say we dont believe that anymore or that person was speaking as a man, not a prophet. How can they know when the prophet is speaking as a prophet. And when the prophet spoke as a prophet and then an new prophet contradicts the earlier prophet. The schizophrenia must be huge in some cases. The prophet states clearly thus saith the Lord . . . . . . or an angel revealed it to me, it is all fine and good - until either another prophet changes the revelation or social/legal pressures are brought to bear to assist the prophet to have a new revelation. What good is a living prophet if what he prophesies cannot be determined to be a prophecy even if they tell them sheeple thus saith the lord
For that much - how can they claim smith's first vision is from the lord based upon how they handle the rest of the mormon prophets over the past 175 years?

God does not change. God is not a liar. God is not a God of confusion. At least not MY God.
The LDS god, OTOH, apparently is.Well, after all, he's only human.

I don't need to carry the baggage of men, being a Christian means Christ helps me with mine.
How very true.

They can not compete with the scriptures so they like to create their version of the what they think the LDS believe...
Such silliness

The leaflet to which you refer, and from which you quote in your letter, was not prepared by one of our leaders. However, one or more of them inadvertently permitted the paragraph to pass uncensored. By their so doing, not a few members of the Church have been upset in their feelings, and General Authorities have been embarrassed.
Golly; how did the LORD 'allow' that to happen?
EXCERPTS FROM THREE ADDRESSES BY
PRESIDENT WILFORD WOODRUFF
REGARDING THE MANIFESTO
The Lord will never permit me or any other man who stands as President of this Church to lead you astray. It is not in the programme. It is not in the mind of God.

On one occasion in answer to the question by a prominent visitor how he governed his people, the Prophet answered: I teach them correct principles, and they govern themselves. If ANY mormon can agree with this, and CONTINUE to follow each and every one of the rules, regulations, suggestions, urgings and hints delivered from the great ediface at One Temple Square; then they are beyond MY reaching them.
"This kind come out ONLY by prayer and fasting."

I have never asked the mainstream have you found Jesus Christ?Of course.
"Have you found the joy that only MORMONism can bring?" would be a common LDS Organization® members question.
