Another good source of information on the Raptureshalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiachDr. J. R. Church and Gary Stearman
We are in the month of Elul. The sixth (last) month of the year.shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiachNext month begins with the Feast of Trumpets(Rosh HaShanah)
During the month of Elul, the shofar is sounded each day.
It is a call to repentance.
We are to bless each other
"May you be inscribed in the Book of Life"Psalm 27 is read each day. It starts with :
NAsbU Psalm 27:1 A Psalm of David.Many recite Psalm 145 daily as well.
YHvH is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
YHvH is the defense of my life;
Whom shall I dread?
It beginsNAsbU Psalm 145:1 A Psalm of Praise, of David.The name of the month Elul is seen as an anagram:
I will extol You, my God, O King,
And I will bless Your name forever and ever.
2 Every day I will bless You,
And I will praise Your name forever and ever.Perhaps its no coincidence that a primary source for the teaching that Elul12 Elul: Ani l'Dodi v'Dodi Li
is an anagram for Ani Ldodi Vdodi Li (I am my beloveds, and my beloved is mine)
is the Shulchan Aruch The Set Table. This verse from Song of Songs is seen by the
sages as a call for us to reconnect with the Divine (our Beloved) during this
season of teshuvah renewal and repentance.The day before the Feast of Trumpets so sure are we are of salvation
we do not sound the shofar in order to confound Satan.
It is a day to visit the graves of the righteous.
It is also a day to visit a Mikvah (Baptism)
in order to be purified before entering the presence of YHvH.
Every empty moment should be filled with reading of the Psalms.We prepare ourselves for the Feast "for which no one knows the day nor hour"
The Feast of Trumpets.
It is the anniversary of the creation of Adam and Eve.
Also man's first sin and repentance.
The shofar is sounded 100 times.
The sounding of the shofar reminds us of
Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his only son.
But instead sacrificed the ram caught in the thicket
as provided by YHvH.
Foreshadowing YHvH's own son
sacrificed as the Passover Lamb
to cover our sins.
