neo-con = closeted cafeteria Catholics.

The lifting of the excommunications opened that door and they came out screaming.

Oh cool. One of our priests, originally from Ireland, speaks Latin. He is pretty old now, does not teach at the church however. We will be taking it at the Jr College this spring, tho, so we can talk to the Pope.

Sorry, this diatribe doesn’t make any sense.

Yes, there were many on this forum who piously hid behind the cloak of the Holy Father while spewing venom on our separated brethren. Now, it’s Their turn to question the Pope’ wisdom.

The Traditional Latin Mass is being taught at St. Charles Borromeo in Philadelphia, and it is the older priests (65-75 years old, thus ordained circa 1959-1969) who are generally most resistant to allowing it in parishes.

Any person who was ever an Altar Boy with the Latin Mass could certainly take on the priests role (with the caveat of actually being a priest), with just a little bit of study.

Somehow people from all over the world and in every culture learned how to say the Mass in Latin for over a thousand years before 1970. That includes not just Latins and their kin (French, Spaniards, etc.), but Germans, Estonians, Lithuanians, Scandanavians, Finns, Poles, Czechs, Berbers, Chinese, Indians, Arabs, Africans, Thais, Indonesians, Polynesians, American Indians, etc. Just the same as the Catholic Church of the East was able to teach Chinese, Indians, Persians, Turks, Mongols and others to say Mass in Aramaic when they held sway from Iraq to Japan from AD 500 to AD 1300.

A Neo-Conservative Catholic is a Catholic with a total disdain for the Catholic liturgical and social-doctrinal past from prior to 1962, and a glaring ignorance of Catholic dogmatics between the Patristic era and 1950, but who is unstintingly Orthodox, Loyal, and Ultramontanist as far as the recent Vatican positions formulated in the past 45 years. Its a very Ignatian/Jesuitical position, where the key measure of Catholicism is unswerving devotion to the latest papal utterance.

The brethren, other than the 4 Bishops, wever never seperated. And the pious venom is an obvious fruit of false discipleship, since a true Catholic is filled with love for "omnibus orthodoxis atque catholicae, et apostolicae fidei cultoribus" - that's "all right worshipping cultivators of the Catholic and Apostolic faith".

The descent in political parties within the Church is a sign of those participating falling from grace, since the Church is One. If a person is no longer One with all int he Church, He is not within it.
