I am quite aware what happened in 1453. That is many centuries after the church was built. Perhaps that sandy soil under the church finally received the blood it should have been built on in the first place. How much blood it will now take to turn that sandy soil into rock, I really don't know. This is not a chemistry problem that anyone can calculate with the aid of a calculator.
Frankly, s, your good Christian armed forces are far more noted in Greece for standing by while the Turks slaughtered 250,000 Orthodox Christians in Smyrna in 1922 than for any assistance they gave us in the War of Independence!
I am quite aware what happened in Smyrna in 1922 and the subsequent slaughter of Armenians. But again you Orthodox want the West always to come to your aid when it is convenient for you, but when we do, you never give us any credit or thanks for our shed blood. Hence our reluctance to do the work you should have been able to do yourself.
“Hence our reluctance to do the work you should have been able to do yourself.”
Please, don’t do us any favors. In fact, your efforts to do favors for Mohammedans of late has only resulted in more dead Eastern Christians and more destroyed Eastern Christian communities so frankly, the further away you stay, the better off we undoubtedly will be.
