“And where is the place for the voice of the People of God in the Western church?”

Now P? I don’t know. To a close outsider it looks like the Western Laos tou Theou abdicated their role as guardians of The Faith a very, very long time ago. But I have a suggestion, listen very carefully to +BXVI because that’s where you will hear in living words the Patristic heritage of the West. And when, not if, when the people of the Latin Church reclaim that heritage, then there will be a place and far more importantly a major role for the voice of the Laos tou Theou of the Western Church.

Amazing that you just posted that seconds before my last post. Let us both pray for the restoration of reverence in the West.

So, the voice of the People of God in the West is only reliable if they agree with the laity in the East? Either the voice of the laity of the entire church is a reliable rule or it is not. You cannot claim that role for just one portion of the church. Since the laity in the Western church have always supported the Catholic teachings in these disputed areas your claim of the church's laity as the final judgment condemning them is without foundation.
