I watched him hosting something on Nickelodeon, I think it was the Kid’s Choice awards, and I still can’t figure out why anyone thought his audience included the 12 & under group.
The man is an epic douchebag.

I loved him in “High Fidelity”. He was pretty good in “In the Line of Fire”. Someone decided he was a leading man...big mistake.

http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/12/04/marc-shaiman-on-prop-8-the-musical/?hp

it’s also the result of a process that began when Mr. Shaiman, who splits his time between New York and Los Angeles, alerted his friends and colleagues that Scott Eckern, the musical director of Sacramento’s California Musical Theater, had donated money to a Yes-on-Prop 8 campaign.

So it wasn't enough to pinklist someone who they opposed politically.

On a related note: Stay away from the DVD ‘Tropic Thunder’ with Black and Stiller. Foul.

Also from that NY Times link:

Is this the first time you’ve created a viral video for the Internet?
I’m so old, I can’t remember. To this extent, certainly. I have done things that have ended up on the Internet. Luckily, nothing sexual. Yet. But the night is still young.

So homosexual sodomy is not sexual, got that?

I don’t know who Jack Black is. Is there anybody in this that’s a known name or just wannabes? Um, no. I’m not watching it.

The only thing he has been good in is Mars Attacks when when he played Billy Glen who got nuked by the martians. That movie is hilarious. Otherwise he is a big fat loser like the rest of Hollywierd.

Saw him for the first time in "High Fidelity." Thought he was great. Then, I saw him in some other movies and he grew tiresome quickly.

Everyone in "High Fidelity," with the exception of Lisa Bonet, was excellent. It's just one of those films.

Yes. He was very funny in “Mars Attacks”. Cute in “Shallow Hal”. Okay in “Kung Fu Panda”. Unwatchable in everything else.

Agreed. Even Tim Robbins was good in “High Fidelity”.

If you’ve seen any of the current crop of fat comic beer and pot joke movies, then you’ve probably seen Jack Black and John C. Rilley in something. Neil Patrick Harris was Doogie Howser and is an out of the closet sodomite.

I have to say that my kids loved his appearances on the Nick Awards and his acting in School of Rock. I have found him entertaining in quite a few things.

I also remind myself and my kids that an entertainer can be monumentally stupid in how they live their lives. When their preaching oevrshadows their performance, I no longer buy their product. It sounds as though Jack Black is getting into that territory for me.
