This was a response I received from Target Corp when I asked if Christmas was being removed from their stores. Paul
""Target tries to meet the needs of every guest throughout the year by providing the items that they want and need to celebrate the traditions important to them.
Our intention is to make every guest feel welcomed and acknowledged, whether they celebrate Christmas or other holidays. This years theme is Christmas Wrapped and is all about helping guests save money and time.
As we have for several years, Target uses the words Christmas and Holiday equally in an effort to celebrate the season with all of our guests. We dont direct our team members to extend a certain season greeting; they may offer our guests any expression they wish including Merry Christmas.
Thanks for writing. We're happy to help you find the perfect gift for any occasion.""
Sincerely,
Jennifer Hanson Target Executive Offices [THREAD ID:1-5NNJST]
Normally I’d pick Target over Walmart any day. But after the horrible customer service thousdands of us received during a huge car seat pricing error debacle a few weeks ago, I’m boycotting them this year.
I have no problem with the “Christmas” policy outlined in the original post. Seems very reasonable to me.
Welcome to FR.
These stores are getting screwed by liars and agendas. I tell you that I never get snubbed by anyone when I greet someone with “Merry Christmas”...any store I go into they always smile and say “Merry Christmas to you too”. This is ridiculous. Sheesh just try doing that on the list of stores that are considered “banned” by the elites and see what happens. If you are seriously dissed then report back. I know for a fact that you won’t be.
This company really pisses me off every year at this time.Boycotts their sorry french owned behinds.
What an ignorant statement. Are you from DU??? Do you realize that they are American owned? Why did you slander them?
Those bastids trying to sell 25 December cards...how dare they sell those under the date of the year Christmas is on...lol. /sarc.
Agree completely. Target is my #1 favorite store (well, besides Guitar Center, ha). I've even taken to buying most of my cloths at Target lately. I despise my local Walmart; the aisles are cluttered and impossible to navigate and the checkout lines are usually intolerable. There is, however, a new super-walmart that opened in the next town that I do like.
The problem with Chinese-made stuff is inescapable. I do try whenever possible to buy American, to the point that I spent $1000 on an American Fender Stratocaster guitar rather than $400 on a virtually identical Mexican-made Strat. Having the same problem with amps - I want a small tube amp but unless you want to spend a small fortune on a custom boutique amp, they're all made in China. I'll probably build my own from an American-made kit.
It's virtually impossible to buy American for every-day household goods, no matter where you shop.
Tractor Supply supports stem cell research (/kidding, maybe who knows)
You haven't been here long enough to be off of probation yet,
and; I met my wife at a K-Mart over thirty years ago.
Good one.
That will be an urban legend in a matter of minutes, LOL.
See Post #8. Dawn531 pretty well explains it. The “Newbie” just signed up today to post this about Target stores.
Your post is demeaning to the relevance of tenure at FR.
Oh, heavens!! I am so sorry.
Will take Target over Walmart any day. The merchandise is better, the employees are nicer, and it’s just an all around better experience. I love the kids’ clothes at Target and have picked up a few tops for myself, too. Loved their maternity clothes...
The only people who would object to this policy are those looking for a manufactured reason to be offended.
AAAAHH! That was very poorly handled, I want to know who listed it so wrong and do they still have a job?
Target is a publicly-traded corporation, listed on the NYSE. It probably has tens of thousands of shareholders.
Tagert is owned by a French company that is trying to shut down regigious braodcasting via fcc petition and is contracted to manage concentration caqmps in north Texas. Wake Up.
I think the target is a little off here (no pun intended).
The Target Corporation is a publicly held,

I would hope whomever it was doesn’t have a job anymore. I don’t blame Target for not honoring the price. It would have cost them millions of dollars and they probably would have lost their deal with Britax.
I do have a major problem with their customer service. I was told on the phone right after I ordered that it was the correct price and that they were probably just trying to clear out some overstock. Then my order was just canceled and I got a stupid mass email about it.
