There are three schools of thought on when the Rapture will take place.

Some believe, as you state, that the Rapture will herald in the seven year reign of the Anti-Christ and his prophet.

Some believe that the Rapture will take place at the mid-way point of the seven year reign of the Anti-Christ and his prophet.

Some believe that the Rapture will take place at the end of the seven year reign of the Anti-Christ and his prophet, right before Christ returns physically to Earth to destroy the Anti-Christ and begin his millennial reign.

But the fact is that Christians are not selfish, as you seem to think they would be.

I, for instance, do not fear death. But I do fear for the millions that do not know Christ and would be subject to tribulation of living in the seven year reign of the Anti-Christ and his prophet.

So should I not show concern for my fellow man, or should I show a smug self assurance that since I will be OK, then who cares if the Anti-Christ comes and ushers in the tribulation?

This question informs me quite a bit on your view of Christians.

Fell my fellow FReeper, it’s not so much Anti-Christ as someone who has too many connections to seriously dangerous people.

Black Panthers, Nation Of Islam, and various other people are heavily affiliated with Obama. It’s people like them that surrounded Hitler and I’ve already observed small but ominous stuff. I saw rallies and they already have a salute and everyone is falling over themselves going on an on about how great it is that Obama is in office. No one is openly saying anything otherwise and there is an undercurrent of fear, at least I feel it.

This guy is bad news and it’s the fault of gutless people that Obama became president.

Fred Reed once said that whites hand blacks one thing after another and it’s a culmination of those demands. If McCain had won, it would have been the culmination of the career of a man who has served his country in a countless, unswerving, manner. Instead we handed it to someone who wasn’t qualified and didn’t even have any gratitude toward this great country. It is the culmination of the desire for AA freaks to see their dream come true in the hands of a man who is more likely than not going to stupidly think this country was built because we were lucky, not hard working.

I wonder, I sincerely wonder what racist blacks will demand next.

A Christian is discouraged from claiming absolute certainty about the time the world ends. It was written that we will “not know the day nor the hour”. I’m not a Christian but it looks like that is what the Bible says.

Obama may or may not bring about the end of the world. However, he will undoubtedly bring about the deaths of many people. Maybe millions, maybe even billions. At least a few thousand.

I'm new to FR

Hello.

Obama is the anti-christ

I'm an atheist.

which, if I'm understanding correctly, is an evil leader who ushers in the end of the world.

Speaking as an atheist, I'm very confident that the world will continue on for billions of years (until Sol goes).

Now, humanity probably won't survive that long.

My question is this: everyone posting about Obama being the anti-christ seems very concerned about the idea, yet one would assume that if they literally believe that such a thing is possible, then they're fairly confident they'll be raptured up as soon as all the trouble starts.

Uh....

Lastly, due to the...hostility...sometimes encountered here, let me clarify. I'm NOT trolling, I'm just curious.

I'll take your word. Some won't, so be prepared.

Finally, for the inevitable questions of my patriotism, I'm an Army paratrooper with two combat tours to Afghanistan, so

Ah, cool. Hey, does a guy in his late twenties have a chance in hell of becoming a paratrooper / airborne? Thinking of joining the Army, if they'd take me.

I am not a Christian conservative, but check out this Tarot Card reading which correctly predicted 0bama’s victory. The question of who’d win the electoral college result in a King of Wands Reversal:

http://tinyurl.com/5ax89d

The card represents the critical factor for the issue at hand. King of Wands, when reversed: The dark essence of fire behaving as air, such as lightning: An exciting and reckless leader who inspires others to irresponsible acts. An artist whose depraved love of chaos causes him to take hold of destructive ideas and make them appealing to the masses. One who is charismatic and intimidating, using demonstrations of his own skill to dupe others into accepting responsibilities beyond their ability. A dashing and magnetic personality, appearing and disappearing with great suddenness, and leaving upheaval in his wake.

King of Wands

The King of Wands is a most charismatic leader. An innovator who can get a
following with one speech; adventurous, challenging, warm and in charge. His
ideas set people on fire and motivate them to do the impossible. Here is a
man who can get pyramids built and countries conquered or peace movements
rolling. He can impose civilization on unruly mobs with his energetic
willpower alone.

The negatives of the King of Wands come through in the reversal where he
becomes, well, Hitlerian. He expects people to worship him and do as he says
as if he were a god, not a human leader. He has secret police and shuts down
any critics of his ideas. His temper is terrible, often violent - and if he
wishes it, he can turn his otherwise civilized followers into barbaric,
bloodthirsty mobs, ransacking and destroying in his name.

Not all Christians believe in a rapture.

If you look closely you will find that the believers go nowhere. It is the wicked that are removed.

Matthew 13
41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Just like in the days of Noah, God didn’t remove Noah and his family, they stayed right here and survived. God protects His own.

Luke 17 (KJV)
26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

I don’t see a problem with your post nor your questions. Actually, your question is a very good one. I am also interested in what others think. As a Christian I have pondered these thoughts myself.

Thank you so much for your service, FRFirstTimer. We owe you and all of our military a debt of gratitude and respect.

A good example, without having to inject faith, is the 1930’s. A lot of people got out of Europe before Hitler got too much power, but there were many left behind. To keep it brief, bad things happened to them.
Good troops always worry about leaving behind their own, for whatever reason.
That’s the closest I can come, without adding faith into the mix.

PS- I think if BHO is going to be the anti-Christ, he’s going to need a bigger teleprompter. IMHO he’s just the puppet.

Army paratrooper with two combat tours to Afghanistan, so before you mouth off about how I'm a bad American, go fight in Afghanistan for a few years. That said, don't ignore the topic, explain what I'm missing: if you're going to be raptured, why be concerned about the antichrist?

You're a 18 year old child.....and the anti-christ is not an American....biblically. Then again, neither is hussein obama....until we see his birth certificate......tuff guy.

"If you're going to be raptured, what's the issue?"

I don't think most people think Obama is really the anti-christ, although the number of people referring to him in Messiah like terms is really unprecedented. That Farakhan of the nation of Islam referred to Obama as the Messiah, is especially concerning. And there are some parallels to the scriptural anti-Christ. The way the whole world is excited about this guy very much matches the way scripture describes the anti-Christ. In fact scripture says "a strong delusion" will occur that would cause even the elect (true Christians) to be fooled were it possible. Fortunately, it appears God will keep us from being fooled.

I don’t question your patriotism. I question your cognitive abilities. There may be a few here who really think Obama is the anti-Christ but it hardly represents FR, although you seeam to hope so. I’ve never seen a thread on it. You sound like a lib blogger/journalist trolling for material to tar this forum.
