He already did, some time back. This was our last chance, as a nation, to have His favor return to us. Christians in general have only themselves to blame, settling for treading water all these years in the Republican party, which is moving more and more to the left, even - though more slowly - away from pro-life causes, where support from the RNC has been little more than lip-service for years.
They’ve abandoned their base, and are putting forth very mediocre candidates like McCain, who have more support with some Democrats than true conservative Christians. And we’ve let them do it. Because we were more interested in merely putting in “anybody” who could at least mouth pro-life sentiments, just to avoid allowing pro-death Dems to simply walk in unopposed. We should have been more active within our own ranks maintaining - and increasing - an overall Christian worldview in this country, which would reap its own political rewards. This has never been done. A naive trust in the RNC was left to substitute, and it has yielded a very poor harvest.
I’ve been saying this for years, and have been called everything you can think of and more because of it. But I am no traitor! The Republicans have abandoned me and my own Christ-centered values; I have not abandoned them. On a national level, I will never even consider voting Republican again. I will work to help foster a viable new party that will maintain and (at least eventually) increase its voter support in as short a timspan as possible. I might still vote for some Republicans at more local levels, but, nationally, they cannot get it done. Fostering a new party cannot do any worse.
We are headed into Night. And, again, we Christians, of all types, have brought this on ourselves.
Revelation 18:4
I have wondered for well over a decade if Revelation 18 was speaking of the US. I wonder no more.
When we stripped His name from our public buildings, made it illegal to pray to Him in schools, legalized the killing of his little ones and started calling sodomy "marriage", we sent Him a message.
God is jealous but He's not one to force Himself on people. If you don't want God in your life, then that's what you'll get. Of course, the consequences may not immediately manifest themselves but eventually, they won't be pretty.
This isn't the beginning. It started several decades ago but recent events (9/11, the financial mess, Obama) indicate that the slope on which we're sliding is now a little steeper and we're probably approaching the end game.
Garbage. Any god that would take his protection away from the greatest country to ever exist because we elected a Marxist isn’t worth spitting on. If that’s the god you believe in you’re welcome to him.
Description; Barabbas means son of shame
Is Barry short for Barabbas?
You are absolutely right. I was just telling my whole family this morning; The Lord is sick of this. We will drop to our knees or else. This country has stood idly by while the kids are being indoctrinated in the schools. We have stood by (some not all) watching American Idol and Dancing with the Stars while Rome burns. Well here we are.
We need to regroup, turn back to God and bring back conservatism or this country will fall.
It is hard to understand God’s plan. In the 1930’s, he saw fit to allow the Fascists in Italy, the Nazis in Germany, the Commies in the USSR and the Japanese War party to come to power all at the same time. Millions died. Who knows what He’s got up His sleeve for us now?
We American Christians have lived in an artificial world for the past 200 years. The ancient Roman Christians who were thrown to lions and the persecuted true Christians of the middle ages who were burned at the stake for "heresy" of believing that the bible means what it says were the typical Christians that Jesus Christ talked about when He was here on earth. We were not called to be happy, wealthy, carefree Christians living in a world that loves God and His Son, we are called to be a hated minority living in a world that hates Jesus Christ, and we WILL be persecuted if we live as God has commanded us to live. I believe that the generation of Godless young Americans who elected Obama will be the generation that goes through the Great Tribulation, and the Christians of today will not be here on earth when that reign of terror begins.
The experiences of those Christians in America who went before us for the past 2 centuries was not typical of the Christian experience in most of the world for the past 2000 tears. But what is in store for us in the next few days, months, or years before God calls his true Church out of this dying, doomed, Jesus-hating world will be typical. I expect to see real, official, severe persecution of biblical Christians here in the US, beginning in the next four years and only growing more severe as the reign of AntiChrist approaches. But I take solace in the promise of our beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whose word can not be broken,
Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
FRiend, your fight is not with me, it's with God, but if I can help you in any way, let me know. But please, for your own soul's sake, don't blaspheme God Almighty. FReegards - OB1
Just on this thread alone, I think there are at least 10 believers still in America.:')
So many of us have been praying. God says he hears our prayers. The answer isn't always yes though. Sometimes it's no or not yet. Last night I had a lot of "why Lord?" questions too.
Is this the beginning of the end? I don't know. If it is, He will remove His believers from harm before things get too bad.
I'm wondering though....could the answer have been yes last night, after all? Maybe America is too spoilt and times will unfortunately have to get tougher before our nation really turns back toward him. JAT.

Give me a break. My idea of Jesus isn’t of someone who plays games, is fickle or malicious. From the posts from other Christians on this thread half of them don’t see their God that way either.
You're partly right IMHO. As terrible as the Terri Schindler outrage was, it was the natural progression of the immoral state of America's rapidly declining culture that first gave us Roe v Wade and 50 million murdered babies. Don't be surprised when at some future point in time the courts rule that anyone who is adjudged to be a burden on society or his/her family will be legally euthanized.
Continue to pray for this nation....
Thank you and the same to you.
