Free agency?
Your right to make choices. No one compels you to choose one thing over another. We come to Jesus willingly. We accept His Teachings willingly. Of we choose not to listen and not to learn.
We can shoose our paths, but we can’t choose the consequences for our decisions.

How can you say that? Jesus said, “Suffer the little children to come unto me.”

He also said, “Wo be unto those who lead the little ones astray.”

If a person is an abuser, he can be baptized if he’s dead, but he will never be in the same place as the innocent victim. God is just. Putting the victim in with the abuser is not justice for the victim.

It appears to me that there will be no such thing as an "abuser/victim" relationship in God's kingdom.

I believe that our earthly tendencies to sin are shed with the death of our bodies, and that the ability to atone for earthly sin is also shed with earthly bodies.

That's one reason I don't believe the proxy baptism is valid OR necessary.

I never really thought about that. However, I'll just wait till I get there to see who shows up. Or not!

I can't imagine that anyone who has been abused in any way is going to have to face the abuser ever again. I KNOW there is a special place for abusers/murderers and it ISN'T Heaven!

And with that, I’m off for the night.

Prayers!

You mean made up out of whole cloth like the Trinity business?

I would, except that the Gospels and the Epistles mention in three separate places that Jesus rose from the dead himself, the Spirit raised him from the dead, and the Father raised him from the dead. Will get those verses - although I’m sure that it won’t convince you otherwise.

And of course, Jesus prayed to Himself, right? Why would He pray to Himself?

The first time I heard that there was no scriptural support for the ‘Sunday Sabbath’ I was shocked. When I learned that neither Christmas or Easter had any support either I was further appalled. As far as I am concerned, the lack of scriptural support invalidates any claims the Church may make. I observe Sabbath from sunset Friday until sunset Saturday, as Jesus did. If you are interested I can send you some links justifying the Sabbath from scripture.

I’m quite familiar with the Sabbath in Scripture, but I thank you for the offer.

Seventh Day Adventists use Saturday as the Sabbath, and they are correct in doing so. As are you. Jews and Muslims are correct in that, and in the latter two cases, their weekends are Friday and Saturday, while Sunday is a work day.

However, the West uses a different calendar for the Sabbath. And since Sunday has been set aside as “Sabbath” (even though it it technically incorrect,) most Christians try to honor the Commandment that says, “Remember to keep holy the Lord’s Day.”

To me, that means to do religious-oriented activities ~ no shopping, no sports, nothing but religious or otherwise uplifting movies, family gatherings, reading the Scriptures, etc.

As long as you honor the Lord’s Day, I suspect you done good! :o]
