What article is it you want me to read?

Eph 2:8-9 “FOR IT IS BY GRACE YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED, THROUGH FAITH—AND THIS NOT FROM YOURSELVES, IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD—NOT BY WORKS, SO THAT NO ONE CAN BOAST”.

Might I reiterate “not by works”. How is it you can’t see what’s in front of you in black and white? Work means you have to put forth effort. Grace is something you don’t earn, and it’s a gift (free) from God. You should be rejoicing in the fact that you don’t have to earn your way to heaven.

I don’t know about Rom 2:6-7. I don’t recall this, but I’ll double check myself.

Rom 3:23, Rom 5:8. Finally we have something we agree on.

You asked why is baptism salvific. But that is explained with scripture references in the head article, the Open Letter to Baldwyn.

Eph 2 explains that grace does not come through works but rather is a gift from God. Eph 2 does not say that you are not saved through works. You are saved through both faith and works. Works are in fact ordained in the next verse.

Of course, just so that were are clear on this, not any works are salvific: works done out of legal obligation, for an economic or social reward, are not salvific. The works that save are works mentioned in Matthew 25, works motivated by love for God and the fellow man.
