I actually liked Wimber,but his movement became unwieldy when trying to be all things to all men..like Warrens’ church!
Obviously,the gifts of the Spirit include Healing,but I think the Believer in this case has shrunk from the responsibility of Holiness,thereby dulling the Power of God in individual lives,imho
I don’t believe that was true of Wimber.
He did try to follow God’s priorities in each situation vs his own conclusions and biases.
And, I think he insured the most humble set of ‘disciples’ of any well known leader that I know of. The only other one who did a good job of training others was the 4 Square fellow in Eugene Or. His dad was head of 4 Square and he died early—I forget how—maybe a plane crash.
It seems extremely difficult to virtually impossible to pass wholesale a comprehensive vision that such a man has.
All manner of screwy-ness seems to take hold the 2nd generation.
