There’s a lot of churches softening their theological stands... and when they do, the long term result is almost always pews with fewer and fewer parishioners.

I would say that there are many who have learned to market their brand of "christianity" in such a way that the pews are filling with parishioners, however fewer and fewer parisioners are actually saved.
