I think what is being said is that “some” Catholics, (those who believe the way some non-Catholic believe) will be saved. Those who really believe and live what the Catholic Church teaches...not so much.

If one completely rejects Church teaching, but still goes through the motions of pretending to be Catholic, they might be saved. Devout Catholics are damned.

I would say that some things the RC edifice overtly encourages are greatly hazardous to one’s soul.
