The term alter Christus does not mean what you imply. The Catholic Church does not claim each priest is some fresh messiah equal to Christ.

Father Kenneth Baker says the priest is "another Christ in both his professional and private life."

If Rome doesn't like the meaning of the words they use, they should publish different words.

"Another Christ" is fairly self-explanatory...and condemned.
