My personal feelings, that I share with you, are mine. We all learn mostly through our family and our personal experiences. Our masses come directly from the bible. We are not this bizarre cult that for some reason you perceive. I am a woman and a mother just like you. I am pretty much able to see Jesus in every one. My husband, who I sense is like you, distrusts all non-Catholics as being cultish. I sort of understand where you are coming from, but you are mistaken. Perhaps it was you who’s “teachings” interpret something mistakingly.
I learned most of what I know about the church right here on FR and also from my husband and former pastor, both of whom were Catholics. I wish no animosity with you, mgist. You are a person of reason and kindness. I’m sorry we must disagree on all this, but that’s just the way it is. We can still remain friends even if we disagree. At least I hope so.
