Evidently you know very little about rheumatoid arthritis or you would be quite aware that there are remissions, sometimes years in length, in some people, and they come about for no discernible reason.

Yes, and the same is so for the "miraculous" cures at your favorite Shrines.

I have asked for evidence of a "miraculous healing" which is totally unique. One which is not known to have been duplicated anywhere else.

So far no takers?

“I have asked for evidence of a “miraculous healing” which is totally unique. One which is not known to have been duplicated anywhere else.”

“In 1947 Gemma Di Giorgi, who was born without pupils, lived in Ribera in Sicily. There was no medical hope of her ever seeing. While her parents accepted this diagnosis, her grandmother did not. She made the long journey to San Giovanni Rotondo with the little girl, full of faith in the powers of Padre Pio. They were among the crowd of the faithful attending his Mass when at the end while the silence was at its peak everyone heard a voice calling: “Gemma, come here!” The Grandmother pushed her way up to the altar with the child and knelt down before the Saint whom they had come so far to see. He smiled at Gemma and told her that she must make her first Communion. He heard her Confession and then stroked her eyes with his hand. She received Holy Communion by herself and when afterwards her grandmother asked her if she had asked for any favor from Padre Pio the little girl answered: “No, Little Grandmother, I forgot!” Padre Pio saw them later and said: “May the Madonna bless you Gemma. Be a good girl!” At this moment the child gave a frantic cry, she could see a permanent cure although her eyes still had no pupils! She has been examined by many doctors who have testified to the case and are able to offer no scientific explanation.”

Of course, St. Pio has been called any number of hideous names and called evil on this very FR religion forum.

She still can see, and she still does not have pupils.

~But it’s about a Catholic. Therefore it cannot be true because they are just not Christians. /s

When I lived in North Carolina, we used to get the programs, of many different faith healers on TV, such as Jim Whittington, and Ernest Angely, being the two, whose names, I actually do remember...there was this other healer, tho I cannot remember his name, all I can really remember is that he seemed fairly young, fairly tall, and quite distinctive looking, because he had a great big high head of hair, and he always seemed to wear a frilly shirt, and what almost looked like a tuxedo...

He used to always be holding this baby....he claimed that this baby was born without a brain, only a brainstem, and the docs told the parents, that the child would die...so this faith healer said he was contacted, went up to the hospital, laid hands on the baby, prayed for the baby, and he claims he recreated the baby’s brain...every Sunday morning, this faith healer, would begin his program, about how he recreated this baby’s brain, and he would be holding the baby, holding it up to the crowd...

So when the phone number came on, for folks to call in and ask for prayer, and pledge money, I called in, to see if I could get documentation, concerning this healing...I was always told, that all information, concerning the medical facts was confidential, and could not be given out....I was asked to take on faith, that this healer, had actually recreated this baby’s brain, and that the baby was just fine...

Well, I have no doubt that the baby that this healer was holding, was just fine, as we could see that child on TV, acting normally for his age, being responsive, etc....I have no doubt, that baby, the healer was carrying, was just fine...what I had my doubts about were the claims, that the healer, recreated this baby’s brain....

Surely that would have been a unique healing, if it could have been verified...since no verification, was forthcoming, I doubted that such a healing took place...

I had hoped that when we moved to another military base, that this same healer would be on our local TV programming, but alas, he was not...

I am curious if anyone knows anything about this healer, just from the scant description of him, and his toting around this baby all the time....I really am curious to know about him, and his healing shows...

When I saw him, it was during the late 70’s-early 80’s, so granted that was a long time ago...but perhaps someone here, is knowledgeable about this particular healer...
