We have been blessed with the acquisition of a two storey home with a finished basement walkout onto a ravine. The builder was a demi Pentecostal preacher; the house has a good heart and was made for us and our five children.

We have a 3 room tent that we just erected outside for all the kidlets to sleep in and pretend that they are camping in the wild. I just put out the campfire. We had hot dogs and s’mores and all that good stuff.

Fond regards from all the bunnies and Bambis and the other edible creatures.

I had to laugh when you mentioned setting up a tent for the kids to sleep in...reminds me of when my boys were growing up, and we were living in North Carolina...

Every summer we would go camping down at the ocean, for our vacation...but when we were not using the tent on vacation, it was always set up in our front yard, for my boys, and any invited neighborhood kids, to use for their sleeping quarters, if they wanted to do that...

It was a very large tent, so a lot of kids could fit in there....they all just loved the idea of sleeping out at night....my boys usually spent most of their summer nites, sleeping out in the tent, along with their friends...

Kids just naturally seem to love camping, and love sleeping in a tent, and gently roughing it...

My kids used to “camp out”. I let them go about a tenth of a mile away one night (1980ish), I could watch their fire. The next morning they came home and told me that they ate a rattlesnake!

Some illegals came upon their camp and they had a rattlesnake for dinner so my kids shared their beanie weinies and spaghettios with them and the illegals shared their rattlesnake. That was back in the day that illegals weren’t scary.
