Since the LDS believe in pre mortal existence all mankind before coming to earth would have seen the Father.

John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time

How do you reconcile your above statement with John 1:18?

And is it true what Elsie posted in #225 that Mormons believe that Joseph Smith has gone beyond John 1:18 and has claimed that as a man he indeed had seen the personages of both the Father and the Son?

It depends upon which version of the supposed ‘first vision’ one is reading. Mormonism apologists don’t just try to have it ‘both ways’, they try to have it several ways.

In the premortal state one has not yet received the corporal body yet they are still in spirit body.

Also there have been men who have been transfigured for a so they are able to endure the presents of the God in Heaven.

Also those who haven’t tasted death
