Most of those assets are buildings, and as far as that Goes, most churches that have been around a while have some nice buildings which are worth a lot, care to guess the current value of the Sistine Chapel?

First off...what's the difference? The poster said the cream was WRONG. Seems to me, that LD$, Inc. has lot's of "cream"..and is very boastful, and proud of it to boot. Are you proud of BILLIONS, AND BILLIONS OF DOLLARS OF ASSETS?

How many people could have clean water, and vaccinations for one building you guy's build? How about a mall worth millions?? I wonder how many pounds of food that could've bot?

Are you comparing your buildings to the Sistine Chapel? doesn't surprise me that you would, though.

Care to wager on what the dollar amount is, that LD$, Inc holds in stocks and securities?

How about non-buildings, like raw land? Care to wager the total amount in $$? Heck how about just acreage?

How about malls, hotels/resorts, and restaurants?

While you're at it....how about proof of your statement. The FACT is you as a mere member of LD$, Inc....have no complete idea what the assets are of the mormon church, nor do you know how it's governed.

It's sad DU.....your church is about "Branding", "Image", "Money".....

I pray for your church leaders..........

I Said: Most of those assets are buildings, and as far as that Goes, most churches that have been around a while have some nice buildings which are worth a lot, care to guess the current value of the Sistine Chapel?

U Said: First off...what's the difference? The poster said the cream was WRONG.

I am the one who posted the link to the scriptures that talk about preaching the Gospel should be for free...

Do you have any Idea what kind of "Assets" the Jews tied up in Solomon's temple? Churches need buildings, I am happy the Catholics still have the Sistine Chapel, I am glad they have preserved the Cathedrals, I don't complain about their assets, they do a good work, I do use them as an example because if you spend all your time counting pennies and say "Wow That church is rich, they should do more" then you should also be saying that about the catholics, if you are not, it shows a bias... You didn't.

U Said: Seems to me, that LD$, Inc. has lot's of "cream"..and is very boastful, and proud of it to boot. Are you proud of BILLIONS, AND BILLIONS OF DOLLARS OF ASSETS?

We are proud of our humility...

Seriously, We can all tell what seems to you, you spend lots of time and adjectives telling us your opinion, do you have any idea what a church costs to build? A single church can cost millions in the "Right" location, big plots of land, nice landscaping, the basket ball court, all those classrooms, chairs, carpeting, etc. now multiply that by the number of wards, add in several million per temple, and you 'll get pretty close to what the church has in assets, what we are supposed to meet in the street to get your approval? You'd probably call the police and complain if we did.

U Said: How many people could have clean water, and vaccinations for one building you guy's build? How about a mall worth millions?? I wonder how many pounds of food that could've bot?

clean water and vaccenations? the same number that do now, haven't you seen what has been happening with the Hunta? The problem in this world is not the amount of money people are willing to give, it's not the churches that have it, it's the people who are in the way of letting the "Do Gooders" do Good. I'm not "Bragging" on the LDS, we help when we can and so do other churches, we all help when we are allowed to. The dictators and Government over those blighted areas are the reason they are blighted, pointing fingers at us and saying "look they have money, why don't they do something!" is so disingenuous, I can't imagine doing it.

I am also going to resist listing "stuff" the church has done.

U Said: Are you comparing your buildings to the Sistine Chapel? doesn't surprise me that you would, though.

Yes, I am but only in dollar value.

U Said: How about non-buildings, like raw land? Care to wager the total amount in $$? Heck how about just acreage?

Sure, I'll bet you one dollar (the standard bet) that the Catholics won twice as much land as the LDS church does.

(Why the Catholics, simple, everybody knows who they are, and they are bigger than us, so they will own more land.)

U Said: How about malls, hotels/resorts, and restaurants?

Sure, Us against the Catholics, and I want to include wineries, distilleries, and resorts, separate dollar bet?

U Said: While you're at it....how about proof of your statement.

Which statement?
Can you prove it wrong?
Is there no proof either way?

U Said: The FACT is you as a mere member of LD$, Inc....have no complete idea what the assets are of the because church, nor do you know how it's governed.

The fact is that as a member of the LDS church, I hear a report, twice a year, detailing more than I want to know. "complete" knowledge of the books? I'm getting sleepy just thinking about it... (Accounting should be done by computers, people have lives) the church is audited regularly by well respected Auditing firms that are on a rotation, making any collusion more difficult.

U Said: It's sad DU.....your church is about "Branding", "Image", "Money".....

You don't know much about my church, it's about "Jesus", "Gospel", "Salvation"...
U Said: I pray for your church leaders..........

I Truly hope that you do, so do I.

You seem to have an abiding interest in this, so here are a few resources: The Church Audit Committee Report
Mormon LDS Legal Documents <-- Remember this group names itself after a known forgery by Mark Hoffman...
How much are apostles paid? <-- also from the "Salamander society"
I could find more, but as I said, I really don't care that much.
