The limits on the free speech in the town square are a matter of decency. Pornography is not allowed, profanity is not allowed, etc. Propaganda is allowed. Lies are allowed.

Propaganda is allowed, lies are allowed...well, I always used to avoid those. Things that make you go "hmmmmmm..."

It’s a free-fire zone, baby.

That is the nature of a “town square.” There is no lithmus test for “truth” and no quality control. Everyone has a voice - even the ignorant and stiff-necked.

Thats Ok with me Alex, one can not purchase their way into the presence of God, so the money is of no eternal good.

Boy will he be surprised when it is not St Peter he meets for judgment at the gate.., but Christ. 2 CR 5:8

I feel no overwhelming obligation to respect hideous untruths contributing to folks heading for the opposite of God’s eternal Rest.

Respect for my own confession prevents an honest reply, but know that I have taken note of you. My husband died in peace consoled by the sacraments, and no Protestant fiction of convenience or heretical flight of fantasy can now disturb his rest in the peace of Christ. This consoles me as I read some of the more flamboyant prose ejecta of our fellow FReepers.

I detect a lot of envy in this article.

Not surprising, coming from the liberal hacks at Commonweal.
