God wants our love and devotion to Him. Praise and worship is an action which can derive from that love and devotion.
I’ve been to a number of evangelical and a few charismatic churches and observed the praise and worship demonstrated. I wasn’t convinced.
It’s a heart issue, I think. If you go in with a closed mind and don’t enter in, you will not understand the joy I get from singing to Him. Sometimes you can really feel His presence. Sometimes you can’t. For me, it depends on how I’m doing that week. If I’m down, or disappointed, or angry, I can’t enter in. Of course I can’t speak for you or anyone else. With a Catholic background and teachings, I know it’s hard to understand us. I know that. We still have ex-Catholics who find it difficult.
