Then you need to take him off the crucifixes and the crosses you have on the walls of some of your churches.

1 Cor 1:23 but we preach Christ crucified

That may be, but he WAS crucified. Take Him off that cross.

The average man in power MAY be able to rule others. As Clinton showed us, he is unlikely to be able to rule himself.

What is true power? Is it to be able to push people around, as a bureaucrat can? Is it to be able to control someone's access to the truth, as LBJ's administration did by concealing the cost of the "war on Poverty" AND the war in Viet Nam? That concealment led to us spending money and lives and losing both wars.

Our Lord showed TRUE power by revealing the truthof Sin and of the Suffering Love of God.

Some protestants see a man on a cross and think, "Weakness."They do not understand (neither do I!) Divine power. They think that God the Son of God on a cross is about weakness.

But True Power, God's power, is so unlike ours that to the unredeemed eye it looks like weakness.

and therefore they reject crucifixes. They don't know power when they see it.
