I’ve noticed that Protestants don’t usually depict Jesus at all. Catholic representations go all the way back to Apostolic times with the icons and the Chi Rho inscriptions.

That’s not entirely true. Many churches have beautiful stained glass windows with Jesus and the Lamb. We have two oil paintings that depict him in our sanctuary. Quite lovely. Our services are always pointed to Jesus, as is our worship. Our church is unusual in some respects because we are a balanced spirit filled church, coming out of a Baptist tradition. The Word is so important as are prayer and intercession. Bible Studies, children’s ministries, senior ministries, a vibrant college ministry, missions (we have many young people who have gone on missions to forgien lands), etc. We aren’t ‘wildly’ charismatic but we believe in all the gifts of the Spirit. I’m glad God brought me here (and I did meet my husband here, too!)
