How about, "...is what a Jew of his time possibly looked like."
They didn't go to the lumber yard to pick up wood to make into useful wooden objects.
No kidding! Really? You mean to tell me that there were no Home Depot stores around for him?
This doesn't mean he was beautiful or ugly. He could have been either. We'll never know.
That is the point. we don't know what he looked like here in earth and it really does not make a difference, does it?
I stand by my earlier post about this topic. I like to believe that Jesus was not ugly and that he was a good looking Jew of his time.
LOL
You like to think of Him as good looking. I cannot even picture His face when I speak to Him! It is beyond being irrelevant, it is silly.
In the faces of man, I see God. But I do not put a face in my mind and think that that face is what Jesus possibly looked like.
Jesus trancends that, in my heart and my mind.
Isa 53:2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, [there is] no beauty that we should desire him.
Isa 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were [our] faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
