Lord God, there is no other God but You. You are Creator, but You are also LOVE and there is nothing within You which is not love and good. Lord God, You purpose each of our lives from the beginning to the end and if we know You, then there is no end - death is only a new beginning into eternity. How blessed we are to have a King who loves us so much, that You sent Your Son, Jesus. How blessed we are that You would suffer so much to enable us to spend eternity with You. Lord God, as God, Your ways are above and beyond our ways - higher and infinitely better. Lord God, as believers we are Your adopted children and like all children our understanding is limited. Lord God we will never understand why things happen in our lives the way they do. Lord God, we do not understand why Nick has cancer. This does not seem fair or right! But You are our Perfect Father God and so all we can do is put our trust in You and bring You our prayers. Lord God, we pray for Nick. We pray for His healing. We pray that You would come and touch him in such a way that the cancer dissolves, washes away and simply is no more. Lord God, You can do this miraculously or you can work through the medical community which You have enabled to make progress in fighting against cancer and curing it. Lord God, we don’t tell You how, we ask only that You do the work. Mighty, Warrior King, Nick has work to do for Your Kingdom! If he does not know You, use this to draw him near. If he does know You, speak to him regarding your purposes in all this and give him hope and vision for his future. Do not delay in giving him Your hope, o God. Help him to see that he has work for You every day even while he is sick. Help him recognize he can help others come to know you by how he walks into each appointment by how he does through each treatment. Lord God, help Nick know that even now his life has divine and eternal purpose when he relies on You. Lord God, comfort his parents and siblings. Be the ROCK upon which they can rely. Direct them to verses in Your Word, the Bible which will speak directly to their hearts. We thank you for what You are doing and will do and place our trust in You alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
