You must hate Paul then: Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle. -- 2 Thess 2:15
But it's good that you've put your finger on what you HATE. Because threads like this are really a lot more about hating Catholics and everything connected with Catholicism, than they are about loving Jesus or truth. You have spoken wisely.

I am talking about culture. The traditions Paul talks of I strongly support.
Communion is one that comes to mind.
>>Because threads like this are really a lot more about hating Catholics and everything connected with Catholicism, than they are about loving Jesus or truth.<<
I disagree. There are things I hate about Catholicism. There is no doubt about that. It is along the lines of my hatred of the Christian flag that my church had, and the oath that went with it.
I do not hate Catholicism. I DO hate Mormonism. But even there, it is Mormonisim I hate, not Mormons. It is the false beliefs and what they do to people.

I don't think that anyone said anything about 'hating Catholics'.
What has been expressed is a hatred of any tradition ... which opposes the Word of God.Matthew 15:1 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
4 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
5 But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;
6 And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
It’s becoming increasingly evident that reading my posts is as mentally challenging for some RC’s as reading Scripture and UnRubberized histories and dictionaries is.
I referred to Paul’s verse about traditions in a post above. And noted that Christ was across the board MOST Hostile TO . . . .
TRADITIONS . . . throughout the Gospels.
In terms of emphasis . . . SCRIPTURE IS CLEAR . . . TRADITIONS OF MAN ARE A HIDEOUS THING IN GOD’S EYES.
Is RobRoy right, that I HATE traditions . . .
. . . hmmmm . . . .
Wellll . . . I hate idolatrous, blaphemous traditions of man.
The 'traditions' espoused by Paul were the explanations of the Word, letters, and oratories as offered by the Apostles, and their peers.
It is hardly the same thing. One can find, in every early fathers writings the idea of sola scriptura- that when an argument over writings exists, a return to the Scriptures is warranted. The Word used to judge your traditions. Would that it were still so, as we would not be arguing here.
